If the Body Mass Index (BMI) is less than 18.5, the weight is insufficient. The risk of health disorders such as amenorrhea in women (absence of menstruation), bone fragility, and lack of nutrients for the healthy functioning of all body systems increases.
If the Body Mass Index (BMI) is between 18.5 - 24.9, the weight is normal. The "ideal" BMI for people under 25 is 22 - 23. If the BMI approaches 25, start monitoring your waist size and remember to stay physically active.
If the Body Mass Index (BMI) is 25.0-29.9, you are overweight, which is a high-risk factor for cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, sexual dysfunction, and other health conditions. Try to reduce weight by eating properly and exercising.
If the Body Mass Index (BMI) is greater than 30, you are severely overweight (obese). You need to lose weight to reach lower BMI values to live a healthier life. A high BMI is associated with an increased risk of mortality from various causes, including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, and arthritis.
