If the Body Mass Index (BMI) is between 18.5 - 24.9, the weight is normal. The "ideal" BMI for people under 25 is 22 - 23. If the BMI approaches 25, start monitoring your waist size and remember to stay physically active.

A high BMI is associated with an increased risk of mortality from various causes, including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, and arthritis.
