Lentils with Mushrooms

Ingredients

1 cup red lentils (Zernovita brand)

300 g mushrooms (champignons)

1 onion

1-2 garlic cloves (optional)

1 carrot

Fresh dill

Olive oil (for frying)

Salt, pepper to taste

Cooking:

Cook the red lentils (Zernovita brand) according to the instructions on the package.

Once the water starts boiling, reduce the heat and add salt and pepper to taste.

Dice the onion into small cubes and grate the carrot on a coarse grater.

Slice the mushrooms as desired — the larger the pieces, the tastier the dish will be.

Sauté the onion and garlic in a pan for 1-2 minutes.Add the grated carrot and cook, stirring, for another 3 minutes.

Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for another 8 minutes.

Add the cooked lentils to the pan with the vegetables and simmer for 5-10 minutes.

Optionally, sprinkle with freshly chopped dill.
